
ASSOCIATE DEGREE OR DIPLOMA PROGRAM
Court Reporters (sometimes called court recorders or court
stenographers) are trained to "write" in excess of 200 words per
minute on a stenotype machine while completing a specialized
academic curriculum. A Certified Court Reporter is licensed by
the State of California to record verbatim testimony at various
legal proceedings.

typically achieved in direct relation to the time spent on skill
development. Sage College makes no guarantees to a student's

As a trained Legal Office Assistant,
you will be responsible for highly specialized assignments that
require an overall knowledge of the entire environment.
At the completion of your program
you will be proficient in legal office computer software, word
processing, calendaring, typing, punctuation, English, and
written and oral communications. Under the supervision of an
attorney, you will prepare correspondence and legal papers such
as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. You will also
assist in many other facets of the fast-paced legal office
environment.
There is an increasing demand for educated Legal Office
professionals. Career options range from working in a small
office environment with fewer attorneys to working in a large
law firm where expanded responsibilities and supervisory
opportunities may be attainable.
As in any career
endeavor, only the individual's education, ability, and
initiative
generally limit the level to which one can advance.

Applicants interested in seeking information about Sage
College should schedule an appointment with an admissions
representative to discuss their career goals, obtain detailed

Financial Aid Department to discuss financial aid
opportunities.

Programs are offered both full-time
and part-time. Students enrolled in the full-time program must
be available for classes Monday through Friday between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Students enrolled in the part-time
programs must be available for classes Monday through Thursday
evenings between the hours of
6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. New classes
begin on a quarterly basis.
