Career options for Paralegals range from working for law firms,
corporate legal departments or government agencies. Some of a
paralegal’s tasks may be to assist lawyers preparing for
closings, hearings, trials, and corporate meetings. They may do
preparation work by drafting contracts, mortgages, or
agreements. They may search the Internet for legal literature
and cite appropriate laws and judicial decisions that are
relevant to the case at hand. When the attorney decides to file
a lawsuit, the Paralegal may help prepare legal arguments or
draft pleadings and motions to be filed with the court.
At the completion of your program, you will be proficient in
legal office computer software, calendaring, written and oral
communications, legal research, and analysis.
As with any career endeavor, only the individual’s education,
ability, and initiative generally limit the level to which one
can advance in their profession.
Job Outlook: “Employment is projected to grow much faster than
average, as employers try to reduce costs by hiring paralegals
to perform tasks once done by lawyers.” (U.S. Bureau of Labor
Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition.)

Applicants interested in seeking information about Sage
College should schedule an appointment with an admissions
